I wasn't a huge supporter of having Ridley playable, but at least it'll silence the massive amount of people demanding Ridley. To put it another way, if Daisy had, for example, dropped the float mechanic and maybe swapped out Toad & Turnip Pull for something else entirely, and had her moves more manually tuned, she'd probably be considered a character more like our veteran clones. Young Link will probably lean more into his origins as a Link clone as a way to not be considered an Echo of Toon Link. Pichu has a different size and, if Melee is any indication, he'll be lighter & faster than Pikachu alongside his self-harm gimmick and presumably whatever other changes they do (he'll probably be weaker in some respects, stronger than others). Even a few of his standard attacks work differently (the forward smash is very different despite both being an open palm + element) He's slower, he's stronger, his jumps have different physics, his specials operate differently (except his side b i think). Mario keeps the size, but his differences are felt in different ways. Lucina has one specific difference (all her sword attacks are the same strength throughout) applied everywhere, Dark pit has all of like 4 moves total difference & that's counting his 2 "different" specials.ĭark Pit & Lucina are all also the same exact physics as Pit & Marth.ĭr. Dark Pit, Lucina & Daisy are all the same size (Lucina is technically a literal hair shorter than Marth is) and have the bulk of the same moveset with very little to any differences.
